В 2010 году студенческий клуб «Родной Уголок» при Университете Вашингтона начал позиционировать себя как активный участник «русского мира». В 2012 году клуб был переименован в Russian-American Youth Association (RAYA) и зарегистрирован как НКО. В 2013 году RAYA представила концепцию chapters (глав), чтобы русские студенческие клубы по всей территории США могли добровольно присоединяться к ассоциации.<br/><br/><br/><br/>1 декабря 2019 года в Генеральном консульстве России в Нью-Йорке состоялся Russian Youth Forum 2019, где принимали участие президеты глав и их команды.
